PORRIGE OFFICE, 5.#.1.
9th May, 1984.
Dear Halten,
Many thanks for your letter of April 30th, about the Persian Gulf shipping traffic. We entirely agree with your suggestion that the United States Government should be approached to join in my representations to the Persian Government, and will endeavour to do this if and when it is decided to adopt the third alternative in our Memorandum.
I am sending a copy of your letter and of my reply to Delvinge and Macin so as to keep them informed.
Yours sincerely,
(Signed) B.C. NEWTON,
